“Is it possible to launch a Satellite in space without knowing any parameters regarding space, gravitational pull?” .Definitely it’s not possible to launch without knowing the Orbital Parameters. Orbital Parameters governs the exact location, exact angle with which it should be launched. “What is the shape of the orbit?” .Johannes Kepler proposed his three laws and proved that orbital motion is Elliptical. The point farthest from the earth is Apogee and that nearest to the earth is Perigee. The elliptical path that is traced on the surface of earth by the Satellite is Sub-Satellite path. “Can change in Inclination of Satellite’s position allowed due to gravitational pull?” .No, it’s highly dangerous when the satellite drifts from its position. To avoid this, Inclination of the satellites must be maintained. Inclination is the angle between Orbital plane and earth’s equatorial plane and it is measured at the ascending node from the equator to the orbit, going from east to north. The orbit can be a Prograde orbit(An orbit in which satellite moves along the direction of earth’s rotation with inclination lying between 0 and 90 degrees) or Retrograde (An orbit in which satellite moves in a direction counter to the earth’s rotation with inclination lying between 90 and 180 degrees). Most satellites are launched in Prograde orbit, the reason being the concept of earth rotating about its axis from east to west. The earth’s rotational velocity provides part of orbital velocity with a consequent saving in launch energy.
